Unfortunately, the actor could leave his role as the god of thunder in the next release of the production company. This was made known in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. He detailed that possibly in the next Marvel release, Thor could die.
"Yes, for sure. I feel like we'd probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like I probably justify it. I feel like it would probably be the end, but that's not based on anything anyone has told me or any kind of plan. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don't know, am I at that stage?"

On the other hand, he stated in the same interview that he will stay away from productions for a while due to a health issue. As he explains, in his genes he has two copies of the APOE4 gene, which makes him prone to Alzheimer's.

It really sparked something in me that I wanted to take some time off. And since we finished the program, I've been filling in the things I was already hired for.
